Unfortunately, I cannot publically expose the projects I've been working on. Please, do not hesitate to contact me directly regarding this information.
Ilya, playing a role of a delivery manager, a team lead and an architect alltogether, helps Joe & The Juice to launch the first end-customer product — a loyalty mobile wallet. The whole system (mobile, web, APIs, integrations and data migration) was done in only 5 months with a small fullstack team.
Ilya helps Smashing Magazine to get rid of Wordpress in a favor of new architecture and technology stack. As a result, it allows Smashing Magazine to drastically reduce giant hosting costs and improve performance and security of their website.
Ilya prepares a full-day workshop with Iceland Foods C-level stakeholders to identify the key of their mobile strategy. Considering Iceland's business goals, needs and constrains, Ilya draws a clear mobile strategy roadmap explaining all the options, their benefits and drawbacks.
Ilya helps EPAM to unlock a new advanced offering in the area of mobility through creation of Mobile Strategy Development Framework.
The framework, as a comprehensive 4-dimensional view on mobile strategy, provides a set of tools and a methodology for assessment of the current state of company's mobile strategy, planning and continuous development of it.
Ilya helped Arxan to modernize their B2B offering through implementation of Arxan Developer Portal. It gave the clients full control over purchased software products (download, license, team management, support, etc) as well as provided an ability for on-demand application protection.
Apart from designing the whole solution, setting up a full-engineering team and working out a development workflow, Ilya works closely with C- and VP-level stakeholders to help them out with MVP definition and roadmap development.
Closely interacting with IKEA Enterprise Architecture Board, Ilya was responsible for the architecture design and documentation for IKEA Smart Home solution.
Ilya has started with a competitor analysis and a discovery of the possible approaches to build a multidimensional product (physical and hardware, software on hardware level, cloud and mobile app), considering a set of strict non-functional requirements, that include pricing model, design principles, security model, standard compliance and compatibility.
Among other responsibilities, Ilya helped the stakeholders to come up with a product roadmap and MVP definition; played a role of a coordinator of all teams and subvendors: development, UX and Industrial design team, hardware engineering company, manufacturer and cloud partner.
Ilya is involved into design and developpent of a comprehensive eCommerce platform based on Hybris and AEM for Amway.
He works within a team of three architects, that delivers a proper solution and a pack of supporting documentation satisfiable for the client.
Ilya takes care of development of an internal product — a platform for EPAM's quearterly multi-track conferences. The product itself consists of a mobile app for iOS and Android, web app, API and a platform for real-time streaming of the conference.
Since the overall team is comparably small by size, Ilya as usual wears different hats, architecting the solution and defining the vision as a product owner. The team was able to deliver the first minimum viable product version within two and a half months.

During the training, Ilya created a framework on top of the platform to make it possible for other solutions based on it to be covered with unit-tests. This framework provides more Web-like API for the development of cross-platform native mobile applications using Kony Platform. That activity resulted in Ilya’s being awarded with a certification.
Ilya was invited to participate in the training and learn their new platform. During and after the training, he was invited to consult Netbiscuits on the next steps of the platform development.

Ilya’s an avid technologist and an evangelist of open web. He systematically partakes in hackathons and conferences in CIS and Europe. Over the past years, he’s been a speaker in a staggering list of more than 40 conferences.
Even after moving to Amsterdam he’s still the leader of Minsk web design and development community Web Not Bombs and helps in coordination of community. Web Not Bombs organizes regular meetups that gather an audience of 250-300 people during live events.
I worked with Ilya both when I was the CTO of EPAM, and then again as a customer recently, in fact I explicitly ask for his help when I came back as a customer because I need someone who can drive and delivery a very difficult cloud project, and he literally saved the project.
Ilya is driven, and clearly a thought leader in cloud and the latest and greatest web development technology. Very hands on — and yet great people skills.
I met Ilya a couple of years ago when looking for architect/engineering resource for potential projects at frog. Ilya impressed me with his background and experience “on paper", but also with the way he carried himself in our conversations: confident but not arrogant, honest about his capabilities, strengths and areas of improvement. When a project opportunity had arisen in the are of IoT with a very important global retail client, Ilya was the first person I thought of.
This was despite the fact that the IoT domain was not his key capability. However, I was confident that Ilya could very quickly come up to speed and support us on the project as a solution architect overseeing the entire system that included devices, mobile apps, and a cloud. Ilya did not disappoint and delivered a draft blueprint for the solution. This required him to work very closely with the client to identify architecturally-significant requirements, with the design team to secure the best user experience, and with hardware/firmware companies. He was very effective in his work and a pleasure to work with. He was recognised by all parties as a team member that delivers quality work on time.
Ilya is a great asset for EPAM. He is an outstanding Solution Architect whose positive impact on production projects is hard to overestimate as he makes exceptional architectural decisions and provides remarkable technical leadership. At the same time Ilya a true thought leader in web technologies, who is often invited to speak at various conferences around the world.
Ilya is a big proponent of Open Source solutions and not only he is a frequent contributor, he also masterminded XFramework, an HTML5-based framework for building cross-platform web apps. And probably what is the most important, Ilya raises the bar of engineering standards at EPAM and he serves as a role model for many engineers.
It’s been a pleasure working with Ilya Pukhalski on the Arxan ADP/APaaS project. We consider Ilya the most critical member of the EPAM team that we are working with. In our estimation, he has the right balance of “can do” attitude with realistic perspective of what is achievable by when. He reminds us very much of the Silicon Valley spirit and our big wish is that his approach is embraced by the entire EPAM team we are working with.
Ilya is a talented, passionate, hard-working developer with a keen eye on performance issues and maintainable, clean code. He’s been helping us with the JavaScript code base on Smashing Magazine for quite some time, and his expertise shows in the quality of his code. He is also very knowledgeable and has an understanding in a variety of topics which is very useful for mid-size and large-size projects as well.
I have had the pleasure of working with Ilya Pukhalski over the last year. Ilya was the lead developer for the offshore team that supported the a complex legacy gametrailers.com site for which I work as a technical project manager. Ilya has a tremendous work ethic. He is dedicated to completing assigned tasks to specification and on schedule. He goes above and beyond expectations by taking the time to communicate when tasks will be completed and clarifying the underlying issues to help me understand the most efficient and effective method to complete a task. This goes a long way in helping project managers plan tasks and resources!
I was particularly impressed by Ilya's delivery of a project that included building three separate pages to showcase three videos over the course of two weeks. The pages had several complex elements and had to support live videos, social and reporting elements and sponsorships (with pixels and click-through). Ilya was able to reliably build the pages under tight deadlines.
Ilya is reliable, a great communicator, and produces excellent results. I hope we're able to work together on future endeavors.
